The course consists of

The course consists of the following topics Collecting & Analysing and Creating and presenting. In the first unit students use microsoft excel as an example of a Spreadsheet package. They will undertake a project concerning water and will develop their skills in the use of this package. The second unit consists of students looking at Microsoft word and powerpoint. The third unit looks at multimedia and students will be introduced to scanners, digital cameras webcams and digital video camera.The forth unit looks at researching and searching on the Internet. Through out the unit pupils will look at technology and how computers work.

ICT S2

Students will be introduced to microsoft access and will use these skills to sort and search databases. They will be expected to research a topic and produce their own database. A unit allowing them to create their own web site will be introduced.Through a series of mini projects they will enhance their computing skills. Through out the unit pupils will look at technology and how computers work.

Project work

Students are given homework weekly and they are expected to review materials on a regular basis. Extra classes are available ater school every Wednesday.

 

Information Systems Intermediate 2/Higher

This course consists of 3 units

Using Information
Relational Databases
Internet

In January students undertake their coursework this makes up 305 of their final grade.

 

PC Passport

This course is offered at a number of levels and units could onsist of Word Processing, Presentation, Internet Spreadsheets or Database. Units undertaken are dependent on student levels.
