We teach 3 separate Science specialisms in Stranraer Academy - Biology, Physics and Chemistry.

These subjects are taught to seven different levels of examination entry according to the experience, aptitude and abilities of the students so that they can study a Science specialism at their own level of attainment and pace. There is also the opportunity to then study the subjects to a higher level so there is progression from Year S3 to S6, leading to possible college or University entry to study a variety of science-related degree courses.

The Academy has a record of successful applicants for courses in Medicine and Veterinary Science at various universities.

The science curriculum is regularly enhanced by visiting presenters (e.g. astonauts), university visits etc.
